Ever since I can remember, I have had a genuine affection for the water.

When my eyes are looking out over the water, there is a calmness that comes over me. When I hear the waves, it reminds me how small I really am. When underwater, everything slows down and I can truly find peace and quiet.

My spirit animal is the dolphin.

Who wouldn’t want to swim, play with friends and eat all day?? Side note, Kelly has a borderline unhealthy obsession with mermaids… I think we were meant to be.

So now that you have a better idea of my relationship with water, how does it tie into “Lake Life”?

Three years ago, Kelly and I started down a path, neither of us quite knowing where it would end. We knew we wanted to be on the water, we knew which lake we wanted to call home, and we knew what kind of a home we wanted to nest in. We found KelMar Escape waiting for us to bring it to life – and we’ve been pouring our hearts and souls into this place ever since.

Our deepest wish is for you to step foot off the water and onto the dock and be able to feel the magic we feel every single night. Pretty cool, huh?

When you are here at KelMar Escape, you get to live what we call “Lake Life.”

Lake life runs at a slower pace. “Meet at 8pm” might mean, “See ya when we see ya” in Lake Life language. The people are genuine to the core, the traffic is light to nonexistent, the stars are brighter than ever, and the belly laughs are never ending.

Your day will begin with waking up to a beautiful view of nothing but water (not a bad way to wake up). Having friends and family pop in on watercraft unexpectedly- turning into late night wine and great conversations… all part of Lake Life.

You can enjoy movie night on the back deck nightly (seriously, nightly!) with 34 candles lit (Kelly’s second obsession is ambiance). Each guest of KelMar Escape becomes part of our family, and the best gift of all is getting to share our Lake Life with you.
